Frido Evers
built a library sculpture onsite using Detroit reclaimed wood, from Reclaim Detroit and an abandoned school.

Evers is a Dutch artist living and working in Norway. Besides his art practice he also has extended experience working with furniture design. At INCA he transformed a room into a space dedicated to reading and the accumulation of knowledge. The library at INCA will be open to the public by appointment.

Cary Loren

Loren curated "The Book Beat pop up shop", a selection of artist books and literature from his infamous bookstore. Cary Loren is an artist based in Detroit, member of Destroy All Monsters and co-owner of The Book Beat with his wife Colleen Kammer.

Inger Wold Lund

"The State of Being Close Together or Side by Side" (Collection of books. 2012)

Lund has been collecting books on local flora from Michigan and Detroit. She made a new version of her piece titled "The State of Being Close Together or Side by Side". Inger Wold Lund is a visual artist currently based in Berlin and Oslo working with text, poetry and plants.

Lina Persson

"HÄPNA! - De Svenska Rekordåren" (Collection of Swedish sci-fi magazines. 2009)

The artist collected one magazine from each year 1954 - 1966. Sweden was never a center for production of science fiction. But between 1954 and 1966 the sci-fi magazine HÄPNA! was published in Jönköping, Sweden. In the history books of Sweden "the Swedish record years" (de svenska rekordåren) were marked by extraordinary prosperity and deep development of the welfare state. Lina Persson is an artist based in Stockholm where she is lecturer of animation at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Hamilton Poe

"Rainbow(s)". (Book. 2008)

Hamilton Poe is a young artist based in Detroit. He was born and raised in North Carolina and attended college in Bennington, Vermont where he made the limited edition book "Rainbow(s)". On April 6 2008, a large double rainbow appeared in the sky over the town of Bennington, Vermont. With the help of the local newspaper Poe gathered pictures of that specific moment in time from multiple photographers. Poe enjoys an occasional bicycle ride. He currently resides in Detroit, MI, just 9 blocks north of INCA.

Aurora Harris

Ms Harris read a selection of recent poems. Ms Harris is an award winning, internationally known published poet and community worker. Ms Harris serves as a Board member for Broadside Press poetry publisher (Detroit) and is the hostess of the Broadside Press Poets’ Theater at the University of Detroit-Mercy. Ms Harris served as the Editorial Assistant for Educational Studies: A Journal of the American Educational Studies Association. She also served as a Co-Chair of the Diversity Committee of the National Writers Union, a Teacher / Facilitator of Wayne State University's Civic Literacy-Youth Urban Agenda Program, member and coach of the Detroit National Poetry Slam Teams and teacher / juror for Poetry Outloud youth poetry recitation competition.

Per-Oskar Leu

"The Bachelor Machine". (Performance.)

The "Bachelor Machine" is a posthumous Franz Kafka book signing, using Automated Signature Technology. Using an Autopen machine Per-Oskar Leu arranges an impossible event– a book signing by Franz Kafka, 88 years after his death. Everyone is encouraged to bring their personal Kafka books from home to have them signed by Kafka. "The Bachelor Machine" was previously performed at Frieze Art Fair. Leu is originally from Oslo, Norway and is currently based in New York where is doing the Whitney Independent Study Program.
